A government minister has been criticised after a mug on his desk was spotted in a photograph. It read “World’s Okayest Minister”.
The picture, taken at a department press event, was shared more than 20,000 times. Opposition MPs said it showed a lack of ambition. “The public deserve better than okay,” said one.
The minister, who has not been named, said the mug was a gift from his children. “It is a joke and I am happy to take it,” he said.
His department confirmed that the mug will remain on his desk.
